Is your coffee organic?
We source only certified organic green coffee beans. However, Deer Run Acres is not a certified organic processor, so we cannot label the final roasted product as "organic." We use the language "roasted from certified organic green coffee beans" to be transparent.
What does "roasted to order" mean?
When you place an order, we roast your coffee fresh — typically within 1-7 days. You're not buying coffee that's been sitting on a shelf. This means peak flavor and aroma in every bag.
What grind options do you offer?
We offer both whole bean and ground coffee in every bag size. When selecting a ground option, you can choose your preferred grind type — Coarse (French Press, Cold Brew), Medium (Drip/Auto Coffee Maker), Medium-Fine (Pour Over, Aeropress), Fine (Espresso), and more. For maximum freshness, we recommend whole bean and grinding just before brewing.
How should I store my coffee?
Keep it in the sealed bag at room temperature, away from light and heat. Do not refrigerate or freeze. Use within 3-4 weeks of the roast date for best flavor.
What is high-altitude coffee?
Coffee grown above 1,200 meters above sea level develops more slowly, producing denser beans with more complex sugars and flavor compounds. The result is naturally lower acid and richer, more nuanced flavor.
What do the grade ratings mean?
Coffee grading varies by country, but Grade 1 and Grade 2 are the highest specialty designations. They indicate minimal defects and superior cup quality. All of our coffees score 84+ on the 100-point cupping scale.
Do you offer subscriptions?
Yes — Monthly, 3-Month, and Annual plans are available at /coffee/subscribe. All ship every 4 weeks. Pause, skip, or cancel anytime from your account.
