What to Expect
Get your hands dirty in this beginner level hands-on mushroom inoculation workshop on the farm. You'll learn everything you need to know about growing mushrooms on local wood logs — from selecting the right wood to drilling, filling, and sealing each log with mushroom spawn. Take home your logs for years of fruit!
What you will do:
- ✓Learn the basics of mushroom biology and how log inoculation works
- ✓Drill and inoculate multiple local wood logs with mushroom spawn
- ✓Work with four varieties: shiitake, blue oyster, lion's mane, and reishi
- ✓Seal your logs with food-grade wax to protect the spawn
- ✓Learn how to care for your logs at home so they fruit every season for 3–5 years
