Grass-fed cattle on pasture at Deer Run Acres in Edinboro, PA

How Bulk Ordering Works

A complete guide to buying bulk beef and pork directly from our regenerative family farm — from deposit to your freezer.

Buying beef or pork in bulk directly from a farm is one of the best decisions you can make for your family. You get superior quality, you choose exactly how your meat is cut and packaged, and the price per pound is significantly less than buying individual cuts.

If you have never purchased bulk meat before, this page walks you through the entire process from start to finish.

The Process, Step by Step

1

Place Your Deposit

Choose your animal type (beef or pork) and size (quarter, half, or whole for beef; half or whole for pork). Place your deposit online to reserve your spot in our processing schedule. For pork, your deposit triggers us to purchase a pig specifically for your order.

Important: Your deposit is non-refundable and represents a binding commitment. Because we raise and purchase animals based on customer deposits, we cannot accommodate cancellations. This is standard practice for farms selling bulk meat — it is what makes the pricing possible.

2

We Raise Your Animal

Your beef cattle graze on open pasture, eating grass their entire lives — no grain, no antibiotics, no hormones, ever. Your pigs roam freely on pasture with a non-GMO diet, rooting and grazing the way nature intended.

3

Processing & Cut Sheet

When your animal's processing date approaches, we will contact you to walk through your cut sheet. This is where you get to choose exactly what you want: steak thickness, roast sizes, how much ground beef or sausage, whether you want bones and organs — it is fully customized to your family. All animals are processed at trusted local state-inspected butcher shops.

4

Final Payment

Your final cost is determined by the hanging weight of your animal. We will send you an invoice for the remaining balance (hanging weight price minus your deposit). Butcher fees are paid separately to the butcher at pickup.

5

Pickup

You pick up your meat directly from the butcher. Your meat will be frozen and packaged either in boxes or butcher bags. Most customers bring coolers to put the meat in. You will need ~1 cubic foot of freezer space per 25 lbs of beef you are storing. We are happy to help you plan storage.

Why Bulk Ordering Makes Sense

  • Lower price per pound than grocery-store cuts of the same quality.
  • You choose every cut — from steak thickness to how much ground beef you want.
  • Traceability — you know the farm, the land, and how your animal was raised.
  • A year of meat in your freezer — convenience you can count on.
