When we started Deer Run Acres in Edinboro, PA, our vision was simple: raise the healthiest food possible using regenerative farming practices and make it accessible to families who care about what they eat. Today, we are proud to serve customers from Pittsburgh to Buffalo and everywhere in between. Here is the story of how we bring farm-fresh food from our pastures to your table.
Our Location: The Heart of the Region
Edinboro, PA sits in a unique spot — within reach of several major cities. Erie is just 20 minutes north. Pittsburgh is about two hours south. Cleveland is roughly two hours west, and Buffalo is about two hours northeast. This central location means we can serve a wide geographic area while keeping our roots firmly planted in the Northwest Pennsylvania farmland we love.
Our farm at 6823 Old State Rd is where it all happens. This is where our cattle graze on open pasture, where our pigs root and forage, and where our laying hens follow the cattle in their mobile Egg Mobile. Every product we sell starts right here on this land.
How Our Delivery Works
We deliver on the 1st and 3rd weekends of each month. Our delivery routes cover Erie County and surrounding communities, bringing farm-fresh eggs and other products directly to our customers' doors.
For egg subscriptions, the process is simple. Sign up, choose your delivery frequency, and we handle the rest. Fresh, pasture-raised eggs show up at your door every delivery cycle. The delivery fee is $6 per stop, and you can cancel or pause your subscription at any time.
For bulk beef and pork orders, the process is a bit different. These are picked up directly at the butcher after processing. We coordinate with our customers to schedule convenient pickup times and share all the butcher details in advance. Beef is available for pre-order for Fall 2026, and pork butcher dates are scheduled for Summer 2026.
Our Service Areas
We proudly serve families across a broad region:
Erie County, PA — Our home base. We deliver eggs throughout Erie County, including Edinboro, Erie, Girard, Fairview, McKean, Harborcreek, Waterford, North East, and surrounding communities.
Greater Pittsburgh Area — Families in Pittsburgh and surrounding suburbs have access to our bulk beef and pork programs, with butcher pickup coordination.
Cleveland, OH Area — Northeast Ohio customers can pre-order beef and pork with butcher pickup arrangements.
Buffalo, NY Area — Western New York families are part of our growing customer base for bulk meat orders.
Why Farm-to-Table Matters
The conventional food system puts enormous distance between the farm and your plate. The average grocery store item travels over 1,500 miles before it reaches you. That means your food is older, has been handled by more people, and has a larger carbon footprint.
When you buy from Deer Run Acres, the chain is short and transparent. You know the farm. You can visit the farm. You know the farmer. Your beef goes from our pasture to a local butcher to your freezer — no middlemen, no mystery.
This transparency extends to our farming practices. We practice regenerative agriculture because we believe it produces the healthiest food while improving the land. Our cattle are 100% grass-fed with no antibiotics or hormones. Our pork is pasture-raised and non-GMO fed. Our eggs come from hens with full outdoor access year-round.
