Beef is sold at $5.50 per pound hanging weight PLUS butcher costs. Total cost will be determined at slaughter, once animal is weighed. Bulk orders are sold at hanging weight, prior to bone removal. For example, 1/4 Cow - $5.50 per pound at approximately 100lbs. 1/2 Cow - $5.50 per pound at approximately 200lbs. 1 Whole Cow - $5.50 per pound at approximately 400lbs. Hanging weight price does not include butcher costs which tend to be on average $1.25 per lb hanging weight.
Purchasing beef by the hanging weight involves 3 total payments.
Payment 1: Deposit paid to Deer Run Acres. This is the deposit you are paying now, to reserve your beef pre-order.
Payment 2: Hanging weight multiplied by $5.50, minus deposit previvously paid, paid to Deer Run Acres. Price determined at slaughter.
Payment 3: Butcher fees paid to the butcher at time of meat pickup. Price determined by butcher.
Bulk orders consist of a mix of assorted steaks, roasts and ground beef which you will be given options for once the animal is slaughtered. Weights are approximate until final weight is given at butcher. Payment in full is due before or upon pickup of the meat and will be determined based on the final hanging weight of the animal minus the deposit paid. Butcher cost will be provided by butcher and paid to butcher before or at pick up.
